1. Download the correct .nbh file for your device and rename it to sappimg.nbh if necessary (make sure it is sappimg.nbh and NOT sappimg.nbh.nbh or anything else)

NBH File (Works for the Old MyTouch)

Zip File (Works for the new MyTouch w/ 3.5mm headphone jack) RENAME IT TO sappimg.zip (not sappimg.zip.zip, just sappimg and its a .zip file!) Thanks Caesar for sending this in!

How To Manually Update to Froyo!

Posted by Ken S. on October 24, 2010 in Android, T-Mobile |
Guys, I did it!, As Most of you probably already know, T-Mobile is releasing an update for the original MyTouch, called Froyo or Android v2.2.1. With the help of the people over at XDA, I managed to sucessfully manually update my MT3G 1.0 to Froyo.  For the longest time, the big problem was that they knew what the link was for the DMD64 to FRG83 file, but not the HBOOT image file.  Cause as we’re all aware, the update comes in 2 parts, a smaller update, then a bigger one.  We had the 2nd part but not the first.  Now we have it!  Here’s what I did, starting from stock 1.6 (DMD64):

Access Locked Levels in Angry Birds Early Via Hack with VIDEO

Posted by Ken S. on October 22, 2010 in Android |

I found this, and just had to share this. It’s  really easy the only issue I had both before and after the hack, is I just can not put this game down. …

Well, folks, It’s that time where a popular game eventually has its exploits exposed to the world. This isn’t really a game breaking glitch (In fact, you can even make the argument that it’s game making.), but with a bit of trickery and a lot of tapping, you can apparently unlock the second and third set of levels on Angry Birds without having to finish Poached Eggs.  Our good friend Kellex from Droid-Life shows us how to do just that in this video. The instructions, which can be found below (and reproduced in the video) are pretty straightforward and should be easy enough for anyone cheap enough to do this.

Posted by Ken S. on October 15, 2010 in Android, Smart Phones |

I. Before You Begin

1. This works on the OLD MyTouch only (the one without the 3.5mm headphone jack at the top of the phone).

2. YOU MUST DO THIS WHOLE PROCEDURE AND THEN DO THE NEXT ONE ON LOADING A CUSTOM ROM TO GET FULL ROOT ACCESS!

II. Downgrade to Cupcake

1. Download the Original SAPPIMG.nbh:

2. Plug the phone into your computer via USB. Select Mount by pulling down on the notification bar at the top of the phone’s screen and selecting the USB notification. You should now be able to access the sd card in your phone on your computer.

T-Mobile G2 OTA Rolling Out, Brings WiFi Calling?

Posted by Ken S. on October 13, 2010 in Android, Smart Phones |

Well that was quick! Just six days after its official launch, there have been reports of a T-Mobile G2 OTA update rolling out this morning. The update is the G2′s first OTA update which reportedly enables WiFi-Calling (surprise, suprise) Mobile hotspot creation, update to the radio code (which will hopefully rectify the reception issues I’ve been having), and includes a few other fixes. We’ve yet to recieve the update on our T-Mobile G2, but if you’ve recieved the update drop us a line in the comments!

T-Mobile G2 Keyboard Gets a Close-Up Revealing Quick Key Shortcuts

Posted by Ken S. on September 9, 2010 in Android, Smart Phones |

g2-quick-keys

Given that the internals of the upcoming T-Mobile G2 don’t place the HSPA+ handset well ahead of the competition, the phone has three main selling points. One is, well, the HSPA+ support, while the other two would be the stock version of Android 2.2 it runs and a pretty nice hardware keyboard. And that hardware keyboard is exactly what we are looking at here in close-up, giving us a better idea of its layout including a set of three Quick Keys. What are Quick Keys? They will be used to “quickly access super useful Google shortcuts and other applications that may take multiple steps to access.”
